We are looking for Power System Analysis (PSA) Engineers.Reporting to the Section Lead for Technical Specialists, our PSA Engineers are expected to deliver the following:Perform detailed power system analysis, including load flow, short-circuit, harmonic, and transient stability studies.Utilise industry-standard software such as Power Factory, PSCAD, and ETAP for simulations and modelling.Analyse system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.Prepare well written, analytical reports based on network and/or generation studies.Assisting EDBs with network planning and asset management plans.Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and regulations related to power systems.You will have:A passion for electrical engineering – specifically power systems.Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.5-15+ years post graduate engineering experience, either within engineering consultancies or electrical utilities.Strong understanding of power system modelling and analysis techniques.Proficiency in relevant modelling software and scripting.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Great analytic and report writing skills.Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.A sound technical knowledge of specifications, standards and codes.Citizenship, or a suitable visa to allow you to work in NZ.Responsibilities include:Power system modelling and simulationSystem studies and analysisEnsure that analyses adhere to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.Stay informed about changes in regulations and assess their impact on existing systems.Identify and implement strategies for enhancing system efficiency and reliability.Evaluate the impact of new technologies or methods on system performance.Investigate system disturbances and failures to determine root causes and propose solutions.Keep abreast of advancements in power systems technology and analysis methodologies.Participate in professional development opportunities and training.Contribute to project documentation, including scope and deliverables.Lead technical discussions with clients to determine the optimal solution to meet their needs.For senior roles, assist in motivating, mentoring and training team members.Why join Ergo?You will get the opportunity to join an enthusiastic team of like-minded professionals, working on interesting and challenging projects.
