We are part of the Oceania Caritas network who collaborate on issues within our region as well as the Caritas Internationalis global network.Reporting to the Chief Executive (CE) and as an integral member of the management team, the purpose of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is to oversee and manage the business services and operations functions of the organisation. The COO will manage process and system optimisation and improvements to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of business service and operation's activities aligned to the strategic objectives. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing business service and operation's strategies and plans, in close consultation with the Chief Executive, to ensure sustainable growth and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Key responsibilitiesBoard and stakeholder reportingBusiness services and operational processes and continuous improvementAudit, risk and assurance management – policy and regulatory complianceICT management – technology,digitisation and automationHR management- systems, process and policyPayroll managementHealth, safety and wellbeing (HSW) managementProcurement, supplier and contract managementProperty and facilities managementOperations and office administration servicesEnabling the work of CANZ identifying funding and fundraising sources and mobilising resources to meet CANZ revenue requirements.We are seeking an individual with experience at an organisation business service and operations' leadership level, with proven skills in strategic and operational management of finance, business operations, and business services. This includes the ability to motivate and inspire teams, develop and implement business service and operational strategies and plans, and drive organisational performance.The ideal applicant will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in accountancy, finance or business management and preference will be given to individuals holding current membership to an appropriate professional body e.g. Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.An understanding and alignment with the mission of Caritas and a passion to make a difference for the most vulnerable is advantageous, as is an awareness of the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Reo Maori and Tikanga Maori.This is a highly rewarding and challenging new role that enables the organisation to positively impact the communities they serve.
