We promote advocacy and education for justice in New Zealand and Oceania, and we play an integral part in the worldwide Caritas network of over 160 relief, development, and social service organisations.Reporting to the Chief Executive (CE) and as an integral member of the management team, the purpose of the Pouwhakahaere - Chief Operating Officer (COO) is to oversee and optimise the day-to-day operations of the organisation and drive operational excellence. The COO will lead process and system optimisation and improvements, as well as the efficient and effective delivery of finance and business services activities aligned to the strategic objectives. Strong leadership skills are essential, including the ability to motivate and inspire teams, make strategic decisions, and drive organisational performance. The ideal applicant will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in accountancy, finance, or business management, with preference for membership to an appropriate professional body (e.g., Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand).An understanding and alignment with the mission of Caritas is advantageous, as is an awareness of the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Reo Maori, and Tikanga Maori.
