We are a marae based kohanga reo that is whanau led and surrounded by the whenua and wai of our tupuna.
If you are a kaiako and passionate about making a difference, we invite you to apply for the role with the potential of joining our vibrant whanau, our close-knit community and hapu of Ngati He, located at Maungatapu Marae.You will have the unwavering support of our whanau, hapu, marae, hapori and lead alongside:About the Role:You will provide leadership and guide all kaiako, kaiawhina and kairiwhi (relievers) that have direct contact with our tamariki mokopuna (aged 1-5 years old).
This is a leadership role that strengthens te reo Maori, tikanga and tuakiritanga (identity) into everyday practice.
In addition, you will work collaboratively with the Kaiwhakarite to manage and lead the day-to-day operations of the kohanga reo and supported whanau led ohu (committees).Empower our future leaders:Lead in a full immersion te reo Maori environment that is underpinned by tikanga me nga matapono MaoriLead and uplift standards of Teaching, Learning and Development planning and innovative practicesInspire and mentor kaimahi, encouraging growth and collective successBuild strong relationships with tamariki mokopuna, whanau, hapu, marae and iwi within Maungatapu, Tauranga MoanaJoin our whanau and tight-knit community:Our kohanga reo is one of the longest standing kohanga reo across Tauranga Moana and many of our tamariki mokopuna, past and present, have whakapapa ties to the founders and existing environment that surrounds the kohanga.
