I am excited to share with you an opportunity to join the Papakura-Manurewa Local Board team at Te Paataka Koorero o Takaanini as the Pouaakina Angituu (Social Impact Lead).
Takaanini is a bilingual hub that seeks to respond to the call of ehaanau aspirations to create a place of value and belonging by weaving te ao Maaori through our whare.
The three pou this whare operates under are:
Pou Maatauranga: An inclusive approach to activate spaces to learn and play.Pou Hauora: Whanau live well, are happy and healthy.Pou Oo ritetanga: Equitable access to facilities to grow community wellbeing kaupapa.This whare is a bold attempt to indigenise how we create space, how we manage resources, how we build teams, how we listen, how we act, how we serve.
You will help to lead a capable hands-on team as our Pouaakina Angituu (Social Impact Lead).
The role leads reflective practice, develops reflective capability throughout the team and leads on projects with social complexities.
The role maintains the integrity of participatory and indigenous methodologies and has a deeply rooted understanding of their underpinning principles.
This is a permanent opportunity working 40 hours per week.
Our library is open seven days a week, and you would be required to work a regular weekend day.
As a part of the wider Papakura – Manurewa Local Board whanau, flexibility is required regarding hours and location.
You lead from an indigenous world view, you recognise mana atua, mana tangata and mana whenua in your practice.
You will lead in the space of: maatauranga, ooritetanga and hauora.
You will be able to coach, motivate and inspire others and are looking to strengthen your leadership skills.
You will be working within a library whaanau that has a team culture strong in te reo and tikanga Maaori, a place where everyone can feel they belong.

This role is a band F, and we are expecting to appoint the successful applicant at a salary of between $73- $86k per annum, depending upon experience.
