The Pou Tikanga will play a critical role in guiding our service delivery with respect to tikanga Maori and assist in the development and delivery of training to build staff proficiency in te reo Maori, Tikanga, Karakia, and Waiata.Key Responsibilities:Contribute to the continuous improvement and capacity building within the team, including proposing new and innovative ways to improve outcomes.Carry out cultural integrity, capability building, and whanau-centred service design tasks, and other general tasks from time to time, as directed by Line Manager that contribute to the team meeting its outcomes.Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders outside of the team contributing to a mutually supportive work environment where both parties' outcomes are met.Provide specialised service, particularly of tikanga me te reo, developing solutions to varied and complex problems - advising and influencing for the advancement and improvement of te Ao Maori informed services and support.We are looking for a person fluent in Te Reo and experienced in Tikanga:Ensure that the vision, mission, and values of the Trust are reflected in their own work practices and workplace relationships (internal and external) including working from a kaupapa Maori framework.Display an attitude that offers support and encouragement to others in the team.Fluent Te Reo and qualifications to back that up.The ability to influence, mentor, and inspire others in the workplace.A commitment to VisionWest's kaupapa and our mission to empower whanau and communities.He aha tau e whiwhi ai? | What's in it for you?Opportunities for professional growth and development.A chance to work with a team committed to tikanga Maori and community empowerment.If you live in West Auckland, the opportunity of working closer to home.Be part of an innovative and values-driven organisation that makes a real difference in the lives of whanau in West Auckland.5 Wellbeing Days each year.Sick leave from commencement.**You must have the right to work in New Zealand, and you will be required to undergo police vetting and additional checks to be considered for this position.APPLY NOWApplications close once the role has been filled.
