There is an exciting opportunity for a Kaiurungi to lead and support akonga Maori in their 2nd year, 3rd year and postgraduate years of tertiary study with a particular focus on completion and retention. In this role, you will deliver high-level professional pastoral care, empowering akonga Maori to independently identify their needs and resolve issues affecting their academic performance, personal development, and wellbeing.
You will also be responsible for akonga engagement initiatives aimed at enhancing the akonga Maori experience, thereby optimizing their personal, social, and academic success. Through these efforts, you will contribute to UC's commitment to nurturing graduating students who embody cultural competence and confidence, equipped to thrive in a bicultural Aotearoa and a multicultural world.

To be successful in this role you will have 3 to 4 years experience in a related role and high interpersonal skills to be able to engage successfully with diverse akonga Maori, whanau, schools and other Maori community members including kura, iwi, runanga and organisations. You will also have:
