These positions are in the regional training rotation programme with Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Auckland Region Districts comprising Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland, Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Waitemata and Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau Districts.
During your 3 years as a Basic Trainee, you will have exposure to a broad and comprehensive range of clinical presentations and subspecialties that can be further developed during a subsequent Advanced Training program.
As a New Zealand trainee of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), you will benefit from reimbursements for your training-related expenses.
By joining the Auckland Region as a Medicine Registrar, you enter a programme with rotations through world-renowned teaching hospitals - North Shore, Waitakere, Auckland City, and Middlemore Hospitals, all of which are accredited training sites.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside our passionate and knowledgeable senior clinicians who will provide you with supervision and mentorship.
We provide a comprehensive teaching programme designed to help trainees complete their physician exams and expand their core medical knowledge.
Eligibility Criteria:

A minimum of 6 months in General Medicine or Medicine subspecialty runs is required, with twelve months or more preferable.
Membership as a basic trainee with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) is desirable.
Eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (for local trainees this means you must have completed two full post-graduate years); support and assistance in this process is provided.
Successful candidates will need to be at PGY3 or above at commencement date. Training completed previously outside Australia or New Zealand may be applied for as Recognition of Prior Learning.

Selection Process:

Applicants within NZ: Ranking and Scoring Process, followed by a Ranking Review Day with the Medicine VTC.
Applicants outside NZ: Ranking and Scoring Process + Interviews. Opportunity to meet us via interview process.
