We know many areas of the health system are not working well for Pacific people, aiga, ngutuare tangata, famili, kainga, magafoa, kaiga, vuvale and kaaiga (families) and communities. In fact, Pacific health inequities are observed throughout the lifecourse, from pregnancy and early childhood through to older age.

The Portfolio Lead is responsible for managing the relevant contract portfolio, ensuring cross collaboration within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai ora is available and implementating a national Pacific health commissioning framework. You will also support the Pacific health budget for commissioning by building strong and sound financial management systems and reporting mechanisms. Work closely with the portfolio and contract administration teams .
You are a senior leader with experience developing, maintaining and influencing effective relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations. Utilising your previous skills and knowledge, you will be working alongside senior team members and SMEs, including building capability and lifting performance of a team/unit.
A relevant tertiary or professional qualification or relevant experience.Can demonstrate knowledge and experience in managing contract portfolios and building sound financial management and reporting mechanisms.Can demonstrate previous successful partnership with Pacific Peoples CommunitiesExperience working in complex teams in an organisation either regionally or nationallySound understanding of contract management within the public sectorAnalytical and technical skills, including the ability to collect, assimilate, and summarise raw data in a systematic way to build a useful view of provider performanceA commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this roleCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthFluency in a Pacific language is welcomedKo te mahi e tika ana mo te ao hurihuri nei |Work that suits today's ever -changing world Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora supports flexible and hybrid working for our kaimahi.
