He angitutanga | About the roleSitting within our Organisational Support Directorate, we have recently established a new Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) to provide a more consistent and efficient model when it comes to large scale, complex projects for the organisation.Reporting to the National Enterprise Portfolio Manager, the Programme Enablement Practice Lead, will lead a team of integral support professionals, that our Projects and Programme Delivery teams will rely heavily upon to achieve our objectives.
We are open to considering candidates across New Zealand for this position.The position will be focussed on: managing a team of project support and business analysis professionals supporting the delivery of complex and significant change projectsdriving project support and business analysis best practise through standardisation and implementation of industry standard methodologiesworking with other practice leads to establish delivery communities of practicefostering a supportive and inclusive team environment, a culture of continuous improvement and development pathways for team membersensuring project support is resourced adequately across the various projects and programmes the team is supportingsupporting your team of project specialists to improve their project hygiene factors and increase delivery confidencereviewing performance of projects delivered to identify areas of improvement consitentlyensuring DOC operates as an honourable treaty partner.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experienceIf you have some of the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you: Solid experience in a management level role, overseeing project support roles and business analysts who deliver a variety of projects within complex environments.Involvement in a range of projects such as business transformation, policy, digital transformation, and construction infrastructure programmes.Strong understanding of business analysis techniques, methodologies and tools, including process modelling and stakeholder analysis.Ability to use a range of project management approaches such as agile or waterfall methodologies.Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate.A passionate leader and mentor, you have had experience managing a team through significant change, ideally located across multiple locations.
You lead by example and empower your team to achieve a common goal.A strong collaborator, you're able to build trust and influence stakeholders at various levels, taking on others opinions whilst remaining on track.Strong financial and commercial acumen – you are pragmatic in your decisions and don't shy away from complex programmes of work.Understands the impact DOC and the wider public sector/government has on the Maori-Crown relationship.
