As a Unitary Authority, we take an integrated approach to planning.
We're proud to provide high-quality resource management policy advice and services to Council and the Whakatu Nelson Community across a diverse and interesting portfolio of work.
This includes freshwater, air quality, housing and urban development, infrastructure, heritage, natural hazards, adaptation, and the coastal marine area.

Ko nga pumanawa ou| About you You might be a newly qualified graduate or have a few years post-graduation experience under your belt – either way, we've got a supportive workplace for you to join and continue growing your career.
Relevant qualifications in Planning, Resource Management or a related field are essential.
You may also have relevant policy planning experience complemented by a working knowledge of the Resource Management Act.
You'll enjoy actively working with iwi, engaging with the Nelson community and presenting clear information and feedback to Council.
Excellent communication skills, a customer focused approach to public consultation, solution focused and the ability to work collaboratively will set you up for success!

This is a permanent full time role with a starting salary range between $79,000 - $93,000 depending on your skills and level of experience.
