Wellington CBD, permanent role, salary range $75,114 - $93,724 per annum.
About the Role: We're looking for two talented Policy professionals to join our policy teams in the Economic Development and Tourism branch.
Tackle some of the longstanding challenges in Tourism in New Zealand.
Analyse evidence and insights and develop high-quality written advice to Ministers.
Collaborate with colleagues across government and regularly engage with the Tourism sector.
Bring a creative approach to problem solving and a strong attention to detail to ensure we continue to produce work of the highest quality.
Join a dedicated branch and a supportive, engaging team environment.
We are seeking two Policy Advisors to join two of our Tourism policy teams.
Tourism is New Zealand's second largest export earner and is a significant sector in the Government's goal to double the value of exports in ten years.
You will play an important role in delivering our ambitious branch work programme.
You will learn and apply your machinery of government skills in the Tourism and Hospitality sector.
The work is fast paced and varied and would suit someone that thrives in a busy, pressured environment and is happy to juggle multiple tasks and loves meeting deadlines.
The branch is responsible for a range of Economic Development and Tourism Policy, Operational-Policy, Fund Management and Major Event functions.

Skills and Experience Required: Have a good base of experience in public policy as a Policy Advisor and/or transferrable skills from an advisory, legal or similar role.
Be a logical thinker and problem solver with a healthy level of curiosity.
Bring knowledge of policy development disciplines and processes.
Enjoy working on complex problems, generating ideas and coming up with solutions.
Have the ability to build relationships with others and work collaboratively.
The ability to work through ambiguity and deliver results.
Clear concise communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong analytical skills.
A relevant tertiary qualification.
Must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
