The Newberg-Dundee Police Department is hiring for a Reserve Police Officer position. Candidates must complete a department application and meet testing requirements before the closing date.
Application Requirements:
Complete the Frontline National tests (schedule via the National Testing Network).
Complete the ORPAT (Physical Test) in under 5 minutes and 30 seconds (schedule via the National Testing Network).
Submit all testing scores with your application before October 4, 2024.

Job Requirements:
Age: 21 years or older
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Driver's License: Must have a valid Oregon Driver's License
Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English
Vision and Hearing: Must meet the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) requirements per Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs)
College and Academy Certification: Not required
Prior Experience: Not required

Criminal Activity/Felony Disqualifiers:
Felony conviction under state or federal law
Misdemeanor conviction related to domestic violence, sex crimes, fraud, or moral turpitude
Other misdemeanor convictions within the last five years
Convictions for minor in possession of alcohol within the last 12 months
Conviction for major traffic offenses or DUII diversion within the last five years
Criminal operator's license suspension within the last five years
Three or more hazardous traffic violations within the last two years
Careless driving conviction within the last three years
Conviction for an open container of alcohol within the last 12 months
Conviction for a Class A traffic violation within the last three years
Five or more traffic violations, including suspensions, within the last three years
Possession, sales, distribution, manufacture, or use of illegal drugs within the last 10 years
Personal use of marijuana within the last two years
Discharge from the Armed Forces classified as Other than Honorable, Bad Conduct, or Dishonorable
Expired or suspended operator's license
Arrest record disqualifying eligibility to be certified as a police officer by DPSST
Driving Disqualifiers:
Major traffic offense conviction or DUII diversion within the last five years
Criminal operator's license suspension within the last five years
Three or more hazardous traffic violations within the last two years
Careless driving conviction within the last two years
Conviction for an open container of alcohol within the last 12 months
Conviction for a Class A traffic violation within the last three years
Five or more traffic violation convictions, including suspensions, within the last three years
Expired or suspended operator's license
Drug Use Disqualifiers:
Possession, sales, distribution, manufacture, or use of illegal drugs within the last 10 years
Personal use of marijuana within the last two years
Employment Disqualifiers:
Missing scheduled appointments during the process without prior permission
Having been disciplined by an employer for abuse of leave, gross insubordination, dereliction of duty, or persistent failure to follow policies
Involuntary dismissal (other than lay-off) from two or more employers
Work history indicating an inability to maintain long-term employment or achieve long-term goals
Resignation from a paid position without notice, except in cases involving a hostile work environment
Financial Disqualifiers:
Multiple bankruptcies
Unresolved financial judgments
Garnished wages or any history of financial instability
Additional Disqualifiers:
Discharge from the Armed Forces classified as Other than Honorable, Bad Conduct, or Dishonorable
Must demonstrate good moral fitness as determined by a thorough background investigation.
