Tasked with transforming Marlborough's town centres into urban playgrounds, making public spaces more creative and fun for all ages. The aim of the project is to transform our streets from car dominated environments to places for people, with a strong focus on children and young people enjoying playful moments in their local environment.
Your first project will be the development of a district-wide Play Strategy considering both larger and smaller areas. This will form the basis for planning and empowerment in conjunction with the Local Play Advocate workforce project.
Although primarily based at Council, you will be working with communities across the district to ensure play outcomes are embedded into their areas of work and recreation.

This role requires someone with:
Excellent organisational and initiative abilities.
Strong community engagement and collaboration experience.
A relevant tertiary qualification relating to play, active recreation, sport sectors or youth development.
Proven experience in leading and managing change.
A genuine passion for the power of play with a child-centred focus.
