The Role We're looking for an experienced Telecommunications Engineer to join our highly skilled Network Infrastructure Services team.
As a key member of the team, you will support networking technologies including build capability, network transport, core IP nodes, fibre installs, inside plant technologies, and other network systems.
The role is based in the Manawatu region, covering New Plymouth, Whanganui, Palmerston North, and Hawke's Bay regions.
What Skills & Experience You Need More than 5 years' experience in a similar role looking to potentially grow skills in new technologies.
Ability to accurately execute activities as documented in technical manuals.
Experience working with NOCs, Level 2 support, customers, vendors, and 3rd parties while employing excellent customer skills.
Strong experience in Field Support for ISP equipment including core and edge routers.
Comprehensive understanding of network build and capability.
Familiarity with NEAX systems (PSTN) is preferable.
Solid experience in Network Transport technologies including Legacy and OTN.
Understanding of install quality and QA compliance.
Health & Safety aware and compliant.
Autonomous, resourceful, and innovative but know when to escalate issues.
Thrives on challenges and excels under pressure.
Proactive and highly productive working style.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Fibre running and splicing skills.
NZ driver's licence.
