Job Description About the Role
The Platforms Solutions Practice Lead plays a dual role in leading a team of technical specialists and developers while also actively participating in technical tasks. They are responsible for ensuring the effective development and support of our platforms. Approximately 40% of the time will be spent on leadership responsibilities, with the remaining 60% dedicated to direct technical work within the team.

Key responsibilities:
Team leadership (40%):
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to a team of technical specialists and developers
Set clear objectives and performance expectations, conducting regular performance reviews aligned to WM's Performance Enhancement Programme (PEP)
Facilitate team meetings and ensure effective communication of priorities and best practices
Foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team environment
Coordinate team efforts, prioritise projects and support requests, and allocate resources to ensure the timely and efficient completion of tasks
Act as a point of contact for escalations and resolve any conflicts or technical challenges
Technical Responsibilities (60%):
Engage in the design, development, and optimisation of platforms, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and performance
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner
Implement best practices in platform development and support, ensuring compliance with security and data protection standards
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to align platform development with business goals
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying relevant innovations to enhance the platform
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development and support processes, and the team's technical skillset
Qualifications To be successful in this role you must have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role, with a focus on platform development or management
Experience with ERP andCRM platforms advantageous
At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory position within a technical team
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of technical professionals
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering results
Adaptability and a proactive approach to learning new technologies
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
