We aim to enable teachers to personalise learning at scale with a range of powerful learning, assessment, and insights tools, helping them and their students reach their full potential.As an EPeep, you'll work on projects that have a real impact on students' lives and have the freedom, support and resources you need to develop your skills and grow your career.We're looking for a Platform Lead to head up our group of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineers, providing strong technical, people and process leadership for the team.What you will doLead, manage and support EP's DevOps/SRE group and create a safe and inclusive environment for the teamCollaborate across teams and functions to help define our architecture and our technical strategy and roadmapOwn the end-to-end availability, reliability, security and performance of EPs platformsDevelop automation, observability and processes to keep EP highly available, scalable and resilientMaintain and enhance EP's build and deployment processes to increase engineering productivity and product qualityEnsure cost-effective use of third-party providers, such as AWSDesign and own security controls to ensure EP adheres to compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 and GDPREducate and empower software engineers to think operationally when designing services and to operate what they buildAbout you8+ years of experience designing, developing and operating cloud software at scale5+ years in a DevOps or SRE role, preferably on AWSExperience with technical leadership and people management, including the ability to mentor and support other engineers and align engineering work with high-level organisational goalsDeep understanding of cloud design patterns, cloud operations, security and cost models – with hands-on ability to implement best practices and drive improvementsAbility to manage risk, ambiguity, dependencies and cross-functional stakeholdersExperience working with distributed teams in global engineering organisationsFamiliarity with our tech stack is an advantage, but not a requirement: C#, TypeScript, React, Kafka and Terraform on AWS.
