We aim to enable teachers to personalise learning at scale with a range of powerful learning, assessment, and insights tools, helping them and their students reach their full potential.As an EPeep, you'll work on projects that have a real impact on students' lives and have the freedom, support and resources you need to develop your skills and grow your career.We're looking for a Platform Lead to head up our group of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineers, providing strong technical, people and process leadership for the team.What you will doLead, manage and support EP's DevOps/SRE group and create a safe and inclusive environment for the team.Collaborate across teams and functions to help define our architecture and our technical strategy and roadmap.Own the end-to-end availability, reliability, security and performance of EP's platforms.Develop automation, observability and processes to keep EP highly available, scalable and resilient.Maintain and enhance EP's build and deployment processes to increase engineering productivity and product quality.Ensure cost-effective use of third party providers, such as AWS.Design and own security controls to ensure EP adheres to compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 and GDPR.Educate and empower software engineers to think operationally when designing services and to operate what they build.About you8+ years of experience designing, developing and operating cloud software at scale.5+ years in a DevOps or SRE role, preferably on AWS.Experience with technical leadership and people management, including the ability to mentor and support other engineers and align engineering work with high-level organisational goals.Deep understanding of cloud design patterns, cloud operations, security and cost models – with hands-on ability to implement best practices and drive improvements.Ability to manage risk, ambiguity, dependencies and cross-functional stakeholders.Experience working with distributed teams in global engineering organisations.Familiarity with our tech stack is an advantage, but not a requirement: C#, TypeScript, React, Kafka and Terraform on AWS.
