As a Platform Engineer at TSB, you'll play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure automation and configuration management systems. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline our development and deployment processes, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across our platforms.
You will be responsible for: The development and maintainance of automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible for provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment. You will enjoy collaborating with software engineering teams to integrate automation into the CI/CD pipeline, enabling rapid and reliable delivery of software.
Having a nous for design and implement containerized solutions using Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes for managing and scaling applications. Understainding the importance of continuously monitoring and optimizing system performance, reliability, and security. You will have a knack at troubleshooting infrastructure issues and provide timely resolution to ensure uninterrupted operations. Your thirst for knowledge will have you staying updated with emerging technologies and best practices in automation, DevOps, and cloud computing.
Previous Experience: Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a focus on automation and configuration management.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for automation tasks.Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, containerd) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).Expertise in Linux systems administration and shell scripting.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.If you happen to have experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform; have knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure; are familiar with monitoring and logging tools like Splunk, Grafana, ELK stack, and some understanding of network fundamentals and security best practices - we would be wrapped!
