What we do differently: We train our people and progress them through the company as opportunities arise We match up to 4% Kiwisaver from day one, then pay 6% after five years' service We support our people with free access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme Before employment we will undertake a Ministry of Justice background check, and you must pass Drug & Alcohol testing Description: Objectives: Undertake the role of Plant Operator within the Screening and Crushing department Perform driving and labouring duties throughout branch's respective district when required Supervise and manage work crews on screening and crushing site when placed in charge Adhere to Company policy and comply with Health and Safety in all tasks Work tasks: Screening and Crushing Plant Operator Safe operation of plant including Powerscreen, Metso screen, Metso Crusher, and Cone crusher Provide support to the successful running of all crushing and screening plant items Manage machine and equipment in a safe and secure way Effectively communicate with all site personnel.
Respond to signals and directions by the staff and work in coordination with them Identify, report and correct hazards as per company policy Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, work site or traffic laws Loader Duties: Operate a loader safely and efficiently Knowledge of the loading requirements; load limits and lifting requirements (operators' manual) to ensure safe operation of plant Excavate gravels from the beach and river areas as per consent requirements Feed gravels to crusher and screen safely Stockpile materials safely Load trucks efficiently Effective use of Loadrite scales Accurate recording of all material produced, stockpiled and loaded onto trucks Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly plant checks as per manufacturers / Westroads recommendations Report damage and maintenance needs as per company policy Routine maintenance of plant i.e.
greasing Carry out basic repairs on the plant, e.g.
roller replacement, mesh replacement Maintain all fuel and fluid levels and report any fluid consumption issues Labouring: Labouring is an inherent component to your role and is required.
This may include: Clearing of blockages on the crusher and screens Change of screens Maintenance of silt traps General labouring such shovelling, digging, raking etc Other duties or tasks as required throughout the West Coast Other: Adherence to Company Policies Skills and Experiences: Must Haves: Class 2 driver licence WTR endorsements 3 years experience in the industry Alcohol and drug free at work Eligible to work in New Zealand Nice to Haves: Class 4 driver licence Good work ethics Safety conscious #J-18808-Ljbffr
