PRODUCTION OPERATOR – KAPUNI (Fixed Term) Understanding of our processes, and continuous plant operation Clear communication and working as part of a team Make decisions, and taking informed action ABOUT THE ROLE We have a 12 month fixed term opportunity for a Production Operator, on a rotating shift pattern within a five shift roster, reporting to the Shift Supervisor.
As a Production Operator you will work in a diverse role, which will enable you to play an essential part in ensuring Ballance Kapuni Ammonia/Urea plant continues to be innovative, efficient, reliable, and safe.
This role will enable you to use your proactive approach, develop new skills and the ability to identify opportunities for implementing change.
Your key responsibilities will include: • Taking and testing of the process products.
• Identifying plant and process deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Loading and unloading of chemical tankers and transportation tanks.
• First responder for all site emergency situations.
To ensure your success you will: ABOUT YOU To be considered for this role, you will have the following: Continuous process experience, as well as trade / tertiary qualifications that would be useful within this role.
However, your strong work ethic as well as a proven training history demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm towards learning new skills will also be very highly valued.
This role will enable you to use your proactive approach, develop new skills and the ability to identify opportunities for implementing change.
• A strong focus on getting it right and a history of effectively following procedures to achieve the best outcome every-time.
• Computer and/or DCS experience, including SAP and Microsoft applications.
• Good interpersonal communication, strong troubleshooting, time management and organisational skills.
• Be decisive, adaptable and handle high pressure situations in a calm and efficient manner.
• A positive attitude with a commitment to personal development.
• Actively promote a high level of Safety with a focus on health and the Environment.
The plant operates on a continuous basis (24/7) employing a 5 shift, 4 days on, 6 days off roster, with additional training and development days.
