SITE BASED PLANT MANAGER ROLE
On the east coast of the South Island, near Oamaru, is where the country's first lamb shipment was exported from over 120 years ago. A commitment to customers, quality and innovation is what put Oamaru's meat industry on the map in the first place.
THE ROLE:
This business critical role will report into the GM, overseeing daily plant operations, whilst ensuring industry standards & compliances are adhered to.
Leading a team of process supervisors, maintenance, compliance, H&S and HR.
Identifying opportunities for process improvement & creating an environment for upskilling the team & driving success from the floor up.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
Sound Knowledge of the meat processing industry
Passion for slaughter & further processing
Demonstrated ability to improve the process & yield recovery
Experience in dealing with workers in a highly unionised environment
Ability to analyse overheads & seek reductions where possible
Budgeting & business planning experience
Sound knowledge & leadership in H&S and Food Safety Compliance
Experience developing appropriate structure to improve outcomes
Understanding the market/ customer requirement
Immediate NZ work rights
