As the Planning Technician, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Undertaking checks on building consents and PIM's, to assess plans for compliance against the District Plan provisions.Providing customers, both internally and externally, with timely and accurate advice in relation to the Resource Management Act and District Plan information. This role will see you face-to-face with the residents of Selwyn, providing guidance on building projects and resource consents.Undertaking planning checks on LIM's and alcohol licenses.Supporting senior team members; ensuring all guidance, standard text and processes are documented, updated and fit for purpose.Assisting in the processing of resource consents and resource consent administration as required.About you: Our ideal candidate will have attention to detail and the ability to work independently within the confines of internal processes and legislation. You'll be a strong communicator both verbally and written, building positive relationships with a diverse range of customers. Practical experience in a planning or resource management environment is not essential but working in a similar role will be advantageous to this position.
