We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic planners to join our Resource Consents Department, where the planning information advisor team provides high quality technical advice to customers regarding how they can achieve their goals within current regulatory parameters. You will have the opportunity to play a key role in solving the housing crisis in Tamaki Makaurau and to provide advice on a variety of development projects including:
Comprehensive residential (including dwellings, terraced houses, and apartments).
Commercial, retail (including town and shopping centres) and industrial.
Urban expansion, regeneration, and heritage.
Sensitive rural and coastal areas.
Nationally and regionally significant infrastructure.
Large urban and rural subdivision.
High profile events.
Maori outcomes (including marae and papakainga) and
The protection of air, land, and water resources.

The planning information advisor role is the face of the resource consents department where your knowledge, expertise, and communication skills will provide sound technical guidance to empower people to make the best choices for their future and the future of the Auckland Region.

You may be a graduate or an experienced planner returning to work, with a tertiary qualification in urban planning, resource management or in a similar field preferably acknowledged by NZPI or PIA. With a strong working knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 and an awareness of the coming legislative changes, you will have a high level of customer service and collaboration skills with excellent time management, written and verbal communication. Most of all, you will have a desire to be part of Local Government where you can make a difference and help us to obtain good environmental outcomes! While we encourage the use of public transport, it would be an advantage to hold a full, clean New Zealand driver's licence to drive our Council vehicles, if required.

Salary range $63,087 - $74,220 (dependent on experience)
