Planner role based in Fairlie, South Canterbury
Permanent, full-time position

We will consider candidates with a wide range of experience from recent graduates upwards.
We are looking for a candidate who is keen to develop their skills and knowledge and contribute to a close-knit team. This planner role provides opportunities for growth and development which can be adapted to suit the individual. You will be exposed to a wide variety of work at Team Mack, setting us apart from larger councils and organisations. To suit this role and our team, you will need to have a can-do attitude, a willingness to learn, and an eye for detail.
The core responsibilities of this Planner role include:

Resource consents processing
Processing land information memorandums (LIMs), and input into other processes such as project information memorandums (PIMs)
Assistance with the District Plan review, as well as review and monitoring of implementation
Provide planning advice to the public, consultants, and MDC employees

Successful candidates will have:

A relevant tertiary qualification(s) in Planning/Resource Management, or other relevant degree
Be a member of NZ Planning Institute (or be eligible to apply)
Previous work experience in a planning position is advantageous, but not essential
Excellent time-management skills
High levels of accuracy
Knowledge of and respect for the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
