Across Hawke's Bay, Taupo and Rotorua, we have a staff of qualified professionals who are skilled in the following areas:
Project managementAsset recordingPower line audits and upgradesTree trimming and removalDirectional drillingTrenchingTraffic managementThe Planner role is full-time (40 hours) and is responsible for the planning, management, and coordination of work to ensure it is scheduled and completed in a safe and efficient manner (time, cost, and quality).
It is expected that this role will be 70% office-based and 30% field-based.
Freedom to Act: Has the ability to make decisions in relation to scheduling and coordination that impact the management of current and future project outcomes.
A background in Distribution would be an advantage in this role.
Key ResponsibilitiesScheduling and Coordination Develop the work breakdown structure to formulate the critical path and ensure those enablers are completed on schedule.Identify opportunities to bundle other work to optimize outages and minimize customer disruption, where possible.Plan for all work types, excluding priority 1.Identify and manage relevant internal and external stakeholders.Organize and ensure an effective pre-site project walkover with relevant stakeholders.Coordinate the development of construction methodology with Designer/Lines Field Leader/Foreperson and ensure all work can be delivered safely and efficiently.Review appropriateness of project pricing with Designer prior to construction.Monitor progress with Lines Field Leader to ensure work is completed within specifications and budget, to the required timeframe.Assist the Lines Field Leader in enhancing team capability and competency aligned to strategic objectives.Provide support during the execution of projects.Financial and Reporting Requisition and evaluate payment for services in accordance with the contract and Unison's delegated financial authority.Submit project variations as required.Responsible for all completion and closeout documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.Organize and actively participate in post-project review and closeout.Provide feedback to various parties, both internal and external, to achieve continuous improvement, innovation, and risk management.RequirementsAppropriate qualification in Electrical Engineering, Communication, or Electrical trade.
Desirable: Relevant Project Management Qualification and proficiency in using Project Management software.
Minimum 5 years' experience in power system construction and/or communications systems and Project Management.
