North Haven Hospice is seeking a dedicated Care Worker (Enrolled Nurse or HCA, ex RN) to join our team, 6 hours per day, 4 days per week (0.6 FTE) in a specialist community care role on a 6 month trial basis.Who we are / Ko wai matouAt North Haven Hospice, we work collaboratively with other services to develop an understanding of, and to practice, quality supportive care in our community for those with a terminal illness or life-limiting condition.Our mission embraces kindness, personalised, and specialised end-of-life care, respecting individual choices.

By working closely with families and our Community Nurses, this role fosters a collaborative approach to care, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and confident in caring for their loved one.To be successful in this role, you will have strong clinical experience and excellent assessment skills.
Communication is key to all we do, and you will quickly develop a professional rapport with your patients, colleagues, and volunteers, whilst retaining a great sense of humour – highlighting your fantastic interpersonal skills.
You will be compassionate, showing empathy for patients and their families at life's end.You will have the ability to think outside the box as to how you can help meet what is important for our patients' individual needs.
