Physiotherapist | Orthopaedic Rehab | OPHR This is a permanent full-time role working Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
It is essential that you are a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
Mo te tunga | About the role
Older Persons Health and Rehabilitation is a division of Health New Zealand, Canterbury | Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha based at Burwood. The Burwood Physiotherapy Team is made up of 65 Physiotherapists and 15 Physiotherapy Assistants split into 3 teams including a Musculoskeletal team, a Neurology Team, and an Older Persons and Older Persons Mental Health team. The Orthopaedic rehab team is made up of 3 Physiotherapists and 2 Physiotherapy Assistants and they work within a diverse multidisciplinary team. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for carrying out effective patient assessments and formulating goal-based treatment plans which facilitate improving function and safe discharges for patients with Orthopaedic injuries requiring rehab.
This role has become available as the Advanced Practitioner has taken on a new role as a coordinator of our transitional care pathway.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
Carrying out effective patient assessment, evaluation, and treatments in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of practice;
Formulating treatment interventions to meet individual needs in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team;
Ensuring effective communication with other members of the physiotherapy team and the wider MDT team.
Your skills will include:
The ability to hit the ground running with the energy and passion to deliver a high standard of care to patients;
The ability to develop a close working relationship with physiotherapy assistants and the wider physiotherapy team;
Flexibility and adaptability with an enthusiasm for knowledge sharing across and beyond your discipline;
Flexibility to work in any of our rehabilitation areas depending on need in conjunction with the wider interdisciplinary teams;
It is essential that you are a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current practicing certificate to be considered for this role;
You will either be an existing ENABLE assessor or eligible for registration;
You will be required to participate in the weekend roster, the amount, the day, and the type of roster is negotiable.
