Fixed Term (until August 2025), 1.0 FTE (80 hours / fortnight) Combined inpatient and outpatient role - 0.5 FTE Inpatients; 0.5 FTE Outpatients About the Role Here at Christchurch Hospital, we are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to join us in medical respiratory as part of our Cardiorespiratory and Surgical Cluster in Christchurch Hospital.
In this role, you will be delivering services to the medical respiratory specialty and supporting the wider team.
Your caseload will include a combination of inpatients on the medical respiratory ward and outpatients as part of our Physiotherapy Respiratory Outpatient services.
As part of our Cardiorespiratory and Surgical Cluster, this team works with patients across clinical specialties including General Surgery, Cardiology / Cardiothoracics, Intensive Care, and Urology.
You will be actively involved in the education and training of 4th year undergraduate students and our rotational staff.
You will need to be enthusiastic and confident in your clinical practice and have a collaborative communication style.
You will be required to contribute to the weekend and on-call rosters.
About You In this role, you will be responsible for: Undertaking assessments, completing appropriate interventions, and providing advice or referring to other services; Supervising and mentoring rotational staff and final year physiotherapy students; Supporting quality improvement activities.
Skills and Experience Experience in the medical respiratory setting - inpatients and/or outpatients; Inpatient hospital experience desirable; The ability to work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary team; Enthusiasm and confidence in sharing your knowledge across your discipline; Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and an Annual Practicing Certificate is essential.
