Physiotherapist in Interim Care & Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation Services Allied Health Rehab and Stroke Team - North Shore Hospital
Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora Waitemata is looking for an experienced Physiotherapist who is passionate about rehabilitation and excited to work across two teams within the inpatient and community sectors.
This role is primarily based in the Interim Care Service, which is for patients requiring short-term admission to an Aged Residential Care (ARC) facility for recovery and rehabilitation.
You will have the opportunity to help implement the rehabilitation model of care and work closely with the allied health team to provide ongoing assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning within the ARC facilities located in our Waitemata catchment area.
You will help coordinate and develop strong links between the acute and community teams and build relationships with the ARC facilities to ensure high-quality service is provided to patients and whanau.
The AT&R wards at North Shore Hospital provide rehabilitation to older adults, covering conditions including orthopaedic, neurological, and general medical conditions.
You will join an established inter-disciplinary team providing quality intervention, rehabilitation, and complex discharge planning through a patient-centred approach.
Within this role you will receive: Support and development of your personal and professional goals Support and mentoring from advanced clinicians, senior clinicians, and clinical coaches Education to support junior staff with clinical development and supervision Regular professional supervision from experienced clinicians Opportunities to contribute to service delivery and quality improvement projects Training and support for this available Credentialing for weekend work Work perks Key requirements for this role: New Zealand registered Physiotherapist 2+ years of clinical experience, preferably in a rehabilitation hospital setting or working with older frail adults Ability to lead, support, and mentor junior staff Work well across inpatient and community teams to ensure a patient-centred and evidence-based approach Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organisational skills Experience with student supervision Drivers licence (restricted or full) This position is a 0.7 FTE fixed term contract until 13th December 2025.
Full time hours: 56hrs / fortnight (Monday to Friday)
Salary range: $77,087 - $116,390 (step 1-10, step placement based on clinical experience)
