An authorised vaccinator with a passion for engaging with whanau and excellent communication and mentoring skills to support the delivery of immunisation services in pharmacies across the Northern Region (Te Tai Tokerau – Northland and Tamaki Makaurau – Auckland).
The Role:
As a Pharmacy Engagement Lead, you will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships with pharmacists and pharmacy staff, providing mentorship, and ensuring successful delivery of immunisations across the life-course, with a particular focus on antenatal and childhood immunisations. This role will cover Metro-Auckland districts (Counties Manukau, Waitemata, and Auckland) and occasionally require travel to Northland, with travel expenses reimbursed. You will need to be a fully authorised vaccinator and have knowledge and experience in childhood immunisations. Being an approved clinical assessor would be advantageous but upskilling will be available if not.
This role will be based in at Greenlane Clinical Centre one day per week. The remaining four days will involve travel to pharmacies, spending at least half a day in one pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Mentor pharmacists and pharmacy staff to enhance their immunisation capabilities Ensure compliance with cold chain management protocolsCollaborate with the Immunisation Advisory Centre (IMAC) and regional Immunisation Coordinators for support and training Deliver vaccinations in accordance with regulatory standards Facilitate pharmacy visits and engagement activities Provide expert knowledge of immunisation practices Facilitate clinical assessments for pharmacistsThe Successful Candidate:
Fully authorised vaccinator across the life-courseStrong understanding of the New Zealand pharmacy standards and competencies Excellent communication and mentoring skills Ability to work autonomously and manage a dynamic schedule Full driver's license and access to own vehicleIf you are passionate about driving immunisation services within pharmacies, mentoring pharmacists and pharmacy staff, and contributing to community and public health, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
