We want you to bring your expertise and proactive safety leadership to this newly created role. Reporting to the Senior H&S Advisor, your key focus will be to manage best practice procedures and systems for our Permit to Work System. A Permit to Work is an authorisation to perform a specified high-risk task at Port Nelson. You will also have direct involvement in our Port User Management framework by coordinating day-to-day activities and supporting our Safe System of Work.With a keen focus on health and safety, you'll provide technical and expert knowledge on permit-related issues to port users/contractors and operational teams, to deliver a highly professional and efficient process.What you'll be doing Lead the day-to-day Permit to Work system from application to closure Ensure that permit activity is coordinated with other port activity in a safe manner Provide a central oversight of all high-risk work, ensuring there are no conflicting works Apply your operational knowledge to ensure permit accuracy and compliance Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure awareness of requirements and operational procedures Provide support and training in the appropriate use of the permit system Coordinate activities relating to the Port User Management Framework Continuously identify and drive safety and system improvements About You Minimum 5 years' relevant experience and qualifications Motivated self-starter with proven experience developing a safety culture Highly developed interpersonal communication skills with a collaborative style Can demonstrate experience relating to risk assessment, compliance and auditing Ideally have experience in the planning, issuing and closing of permits Have the ability to provide technical expertise and coaching to our stakeholders You're a solutions and customer-focused person with a passion for driving process improvement.
