High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) are seeking a motivated individual with interests and skills that span beyond traditional sport science discipline divides. The successful candidate will work in partnership with National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) to provide best practice Performance and Technique Analysis (PTA) and Strength and Conditioning (S&C) support across multiple sports with an emphasis on Athletics disciplines. A successful candidate will bring a high standard of professionalism required to enhance the athlete daily training environment.
This role requires the provision of high impact strength and conditioning support, scaled appropriately to athlete age and stage of development. You will bring an analytical lens into performance conversations to help facilitate objective decision making and planning. You will collaborate with coaches and technical leaders on required interventions and quantify subsequent performance change.
At least 3 years' experience working autonomously within a high-performance sport setting is required, including experience working with Olympic level athletes. Candidates should understand and have previous experience in the effective delivery of biomechanics, performance analysis and strength and conditioning to high performance programmes. Candidates are expected to have a degree (or higher) in sports science, engineering, or science.
In addition to athlete facing support provision, this will be a collaborative role operating within a tight knit performance support team. Therefore, the ability to build and maintain robust relationships is critical.
The successful candidate may be required to provide support regionally and internationally at competitions and training camps.
