We are transforming the way we deliver projects, consequently our operating model is changing. To that end we are recruiting for a new role that sits in the Plan, Strategy and Programming Unit. What does a day in this job look like? In this role you will lead and manage a team of SME's on a day-to-day basis to provide a strong, consistent foundation so that resources can function optimally to enhance delivery success. Working in strong partnership with the Technical Directors and subject matter experts the role focuses on day-to-day people management, talent development and performance while ensuring specialist functions are well-resourced and delivered effectively. Skills and experience we are seeking: Proven people leadership skills and experience (5-10yrs) at a senior level. Well-developed leadership attributes including being effective in inspiring a shared vision, holding staff accountable for outcomes, enabling others to achieve, and developing high-performance teams and individuals. Ability to work alongside technical experts and a passion for dealing with people. Approachable, outgoing and energetic; easily able to build trust and influence. A bachelor's degree in management, business, or other relevant business discipline. Strong recruitment decision-making experience with proven success, talent sourcing experience preferably including recruitment agency knowledge. Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of technical specialist professionals. Proven strategic capability, sense-making and thought leadership backed by political acumen and commercial knowledge. Outstanding communication, presentation, stakeholder influencing & engagement skills that builds confidence and reinforces a positive organisational reputation. Any of the following experience would be advantageous: Experience managing high performing teams within a technical environment. Previous experience in professional services and/or specialist consultancy services. Sound knowledge of local government context and decision-making processes (or experience in a comparable field).
