We are seeking a trusted, experienced People Experience (PX) Adviser to join our dynamic PX team at Sime Motors primarily based in Mount Wellington, Auckland. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of your portfolio while partnering closely with managers across the Commercial Aftersales portfolio. You will be responsible for building capability, implementing people initiatives by delivering a proactive and customer-focused PX advisory. You will provide expert PX support on a wide variety of matters including employment legislation, employee relations, policy and process, recruitment, change management, and the delivery of key projects.
About the Role This is a busy role that reports directly to a Business Partner. You will be expected to work autonomously and take full ownership of your designated portfolio. You will collaborate with managers across various business units, providing practical guidance on PX matters, ER, conducting investigations and reporting on findings, providing training, and managing internal movements.
You will need to be comfortable working across different legal entities with different business models, and you'll report into a global corporate structure with all the complexities that brings. The role requires an adaptable, resilient, confident individual who is solutions-focused and capable of acting with integrity, confidentiality, and commercial insight.
Key Responsibilities Partner with managers to provide coaching and support to develop the people management and leadership skills of line managers.Advise on PX processes including recruitment & employment agreements, investigations, pay, leave, medical incapacity, and resolving day-to-day people management challenges.Actively partner with different business units, gaining an understanding of their unique needs while aligning with corporate objectives.Manage your portfolio independently while collaborating with other PX functions, such as recruitment, payroll, and training.Travel domestically on occasions to engage with different teams to understand business needs, employee experience, and provide onsite PX support.Required Experience & Skills A minimum of 3-5 years' PX experience in New Zealand, preferably in a generalist advisory role.Prior experience of 2-3 years in an HR coordinator role is essential to ensure a strong foundation for the adviser responsibilities.Strong PX knowledge of employment law, with proficiency in conducting investigations and disciplinary processes.Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and acting with high levels of ethics, integrity, and professionalism in this values-based organisation.Adaptable, resilient & solution-oriented, with a proactive, solutions-driven approach to problem-solving.Exceptional written English is essential, with experience in drafting letters related to disciplinary processes.Critical thinking skills coupled with good commercial acumen to understand the commercial implications of PX decisions.Ability to travel within New Zealand.A great sense of humour!About the PX Team
