Position: People & Culture Manager Purpose: To lead the human resources function at Longveld, supporting strategic direction by ensuring we have a resilient team well prepared for transformational change, operating within a safe and positive work environment.
Reports to: Managing Director Direct reports: People and Culture Coordinator Works closely with: Senior Leadership Team (SLT), all people leaders Key Accountabilities: Safety and Wellbeing Safety and wellbeing come first at Longveld, with health being a fundamental part of wellbeing.

contribute to continuous improvement by raising issues and ideas, and participating in system development, implementation, monitoring and review, either directly or through representatives or managers.
report any hazards, incidents, injuries or defects observed.
not interfere with the scene of a notifiable event unless it is necessary to prevent further suffering, minimise property damage, or maintain access to essential services.
As the senior leader in the People & Culture area, you have a particular role in being a champion of our workplace safety and wellbeing and are fully accountable to: have a full understanding of the health and safety risks associated with Longveld's operations.
implement all legal requirements within a best practice framework for workplace health and safety matters, advising and guiding our people on systems and processes to comply with these.
liaise with external agencies such as Worksafe New Zealand and ACC.
identify resource requirements for the development, implementation and maintenance of the health and safety management system, obtain approval for their provision, and secure and allocate resources accordingly.
Strategic Leadership Our people and culture strategy, LEAP (Longveld Engagement and Progression), underpins leadership at Longveld.
It is designed to ensure that everyone on Longveld's team is resilient, fulfilled, fully engaged, and returns home safe and sound each day.
As the senior leader in the People & Culture area, you are accountable for the development and implementation of our LEAP strategy across Longveld, supporting all other leaders within the organisation to create a "this is the place to be" environment.
This means supporting all leaders at Longveld, including yourself in the leadership of your own reports, to provide clarity of purpose, and build autonomy, mastery and succession.
As a senior leader you will: ensure all contractual decisions and financial commitments that you make on behalf of Longveld follow company protocols and are within established delegated authorities.
ensure all legislative and compliance requirements relating to your department and affecting the organisation are met.
build intimate yet professional relationships within industry and community networks to leverage opportunities, identify best practice, and build on Longveld's positive reputation.
actively engage with your own professional development.

You will have a hands-on role in talent development from recruitment through to exit since our People & Culture team is small, but this will change as we grow and our support team is able to expand.

in-depth working knowledge of employment and health and safety legislation.
working expertise in health & safety leadership in a safety-sensitive industry.
strengths in organisational development and change management.
experienced performance manager and conflict resolver.
high level of emotional intelligence with the ability to build positive relationships with, and work alongside, a diverse group of people.
ability to work strategically and develop relevant key performance indicators.
excellent commercial acumen and financial literacy.
a passion for continuous improvement and enthusiasm for the use of Industry 4.0 technology to drive exponential change.
proven ability to work calmly, productively and decisively under pressure.
ability to analyse complex data and documentation.
digital competence, particularly in Microsoft Office 365. well-connected into relevant networks.
relevant tertiary qualification.
able to learn, unlearn and relearn, and apply initiative to problem solving.
