People & Culture Advisor (Fixed Term Maternity Cover) At Magic Memories, We Make People Smile.

Based in beautiful Queenstown, our People & Culture team are looking for a full-time People & Culture Advisor on a 9-month maternity cover contract (Feb 2025 - Oct 2025). In this varied and collaborative role, you'll work closely with our existing P&C Advisor and APAC operations team, to provide hands-on support and guidance with all things people related.
Your duties will include:
Handle inquiries from employees and managers, providing guidance on HR matters and promoting best practices
Provide advice and support on employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes
Support payroll processes, including payroll checks and data entry as needed
Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation, staying up to date with changes
Coach leaders to build their capability and support them through complex and difficult issues
Maintain personnel records, HR information systems and initiative trackers
Assist with recruitment by determining needs, posting job ads, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks
Support Health & Safety compliance, reporting, and accident claim processing
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:
3+ years experience in a People & Culture role, with a strong understanding of HR processes, employment legislation and best practices
Strong knowledge of payroll processes for Australia and New Zealand
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
