This strategic role is designed to ensure DOC has the right capabilities, skills, and culture to deliver on its critical objectives and maintain its position as an effective and high-performing organisation.As the People Capability and Culture Manager, you will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational aspects of organisational development and learning initiatives across DOC.
This includes:providing functional leadership in the areas of OD and L&D, ensuring alignment with DOC's strategic goalsleading change programmes to build organisational capability and improve effectivenessoverseeing the design and delivery of L&D services that align with the organisation's goals and promote skills developmentmanaging performance systems and frameworks to drive continuous improvementleading organisational culture initiatives to foster inclusivity and support DOC's valuesleading innovative approaches to work and collaboration within P&C and throughout the organisationcollaborating closely with People and Culture leadership, managers, and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact serviceschampioning the Treaty partnership with Maori, ensuring DOC operates as an honourable Treaty partner and builds Maori capability across the team.We are after an authentic and experienced leader to drive excellence and efficiency in our People & Culture function.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to influence and build credibility with senior leaders, the broader People & Culture team, the PSA and external partners, while fostering collaboration across all levels of the organization.To be successful in this role, you will have:A tertiary qualification in Industrial/Organisational Psychology, Learning and Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Several years of proven experience in organisational development and learning, with a deep understanding of OD and L&D practices and frameworks.Strong leadership and people management skills, including experience in coaching, mentoring, and driving team performance.A deep commitment to Treaty partnership principles, with a strong understanding of te ao Maori, te reo me nga tikanga Maori.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.A sound understanding of the New Zealand Public Service Framework and leadership models.If you are passionate about organisational development and learning and want to play a key role in shaping an organisation's future, then this is it!Apply online with a CV and cover letter that highlights your relevant skills, experience and motivation for joining Te Papa Atawhai.
