Peer Support Worker

M.I.S.T Mental Illness Survivors Team is a drop-in center that provides a safe space for members.
As a Peer Support Worker to provide a person-centered approach your primary goal is to provide encouragement, support, and guidance to individuals who are dealing with various challenges such as mental health, substance abuse, or other personal journeys.
You'll draw from your own experiences and understanding to help others navigate their journeys toward wellness and recovery.
This role often involves creating a safe and non-judgmental environment, actively listening to individuals, and offering practical assistance and resources as needed.
Additionally, you may also be involved in advocating for individuals within the community and helping them access appropriate services and support networks under the direction of the M.I.S.T Operational Manager.
A qualification in Mental Health and Wellbeing or the willingness to obtain.A New Zealand Police Vetting Check is a requirement for the role.
A Full New Zealand Drivers Licence is required.
