About usPGF Services is part of the PGF Group, a national gambling harm support service in Aotearoa. We provide free, professional, and confidential counselling to anyone impacted by gambling harm and integrate this with a strong health promotion programme in communities.Starting from a small telephone counselling service over 25 years ago, the organisation has evolved into a national provider, with a stepped model of care and a public health programme that works alongside counsellors. We are culturally diverse and support autonomous Pacific and Asian services delivering culturally and linguistically appropriate gambling counselling and public health support.PGF Services is committed to preventing and reducing gambling harm for all tangata in Aotearoa with integrity, mana and innovative solutions.We stand true to our word, we stand true to our people, we stand true to our legacy.About the roleAs our permanent Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct support to individuals recovering from gambling harm. The position involves walking alongside people in their recovery journey, role modelling hope, and facilitating processes that enable individuals to live a life free from gambling harm.What you will bringThe successful candidate will have:A Level 4 or above peer support or lived experience health qualification or be willing to work towards itA working understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principlesLived experience of gambling harm and be free of gambling for at least one yearThe ability to work cross-culturally and engage with diverse communitiesHigh standards of record keepingA full and clean driver's licenseCompetence in data entry and experience with Microsoft 365 programmes is desirableThese skills are highly desirable for this position; however, we are willing to provide training for the right candidate.Applications will close at 5.00pm on 4th November 2024 unless filled prior.Please note: To apply for this role, you must be eligible to work in New Zealand.We are committed to delivering a mana enhancing service and the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff is important to us.
