The Opportunity; As a Payroll Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll for a diverse portfolio of depots across New Zealand. With your extensive payroll expertise and a 'hands-on' work style, you'll ensure compliance with NZ employment/wage regulations are maintained and contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes and share knowledge with other team members.
You will collaborate closely with our HR team to ensure seamless integration and reporting of payroll data and provide exceptional client service.
We're looking for someone with experience and know-how to:
Process payroll for multiple depots accurately and on time, ideally using a range of software such as DataPay and BambooHR.Ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements.Prepare and submit payroll reports to depots and regulatory bodies as required.Calculate and process termination payments including KiwiSaver, leave entitlements and other payments such as bonus, redundancy and appropriate tax treatment.Respond promptly to depot inquiries and resolve payroll-related issues.Maintain payroll records and employee data with utmost confidentiality.This role is fixed term, with a start date in February 2025.

About You; You've got amazing time management skills and view yourself as a collaborative team member, ensuring that you positively contribute to the team and ensure all staff details for each pay run are complete on time and accurate.
You're experienced in payroll and understand the importance of confidentiality. You like to stay up to date with relevant legislative mandates and statutes and understand how they can be implemented.
Your Skills; At least 5 years' experience specialising in payroll administration.In-depth knowledge of payroll procedures, laws, and regulations.Experience in multiple pay structures and concurrent pay-runs.Proficiency in using MS Office, Excel.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.Interest in public transport.Health and safety savvy.What you get; Onsite parking.Supportive leadership team.Work from home policy.Work with an essential NZ business.Want to learn more?
