Location: Rotorua Hospital
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per fortnight

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Payroll Officer to join our dedicated team based in Rotorua. Health New Zealand |Te Whatu Ora Lakes provides healthcare from its two modern and progressive general hospitals in Rotorua and Taupo, New Zealand. About You
Minimum of 3 years experience in a Payroll role
Knowledge of payroll-related legislation, employment agreements, their interpretation, and application
Experience with computerised payroll systems and processes; high level of computer literacy skills (including advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Outlook along with data entry skills)
Proven ability to cope under pressure with a high volume of work
High degree of numeracy skills and time data calculations with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to set own priorities and meet deadlines without the need for constant supervision
Good analytical, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills together with the ability to manage queries from customers in a professional and efficient manner
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Band 4 Step 1 of the PSA Administration and Clerical pay scale
