The Horizon Energy Group owns and operates electrical contracting and infrastructure construction businesses in multiple locations, a nationwide heating, ventilation, cooling and refrigeration construction and servicing business, and also operates in the South Pacific. You will join a focused, friendly and supportive payroll team of professionals committed to being successful through continuous improvement.Horizon Energy Group is recruiting for a fixed-term Payroll Officer for a 6-month period until 18th July 2025 to cover maternity leave. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for:Managing employee and pay dataProcessing multiple end-to-end payrollsCollecting and ensuring the accuracy of timesheetsCalculating salaries and wages in iChris, ensuring that transactions comply with financial policies, procedures, contractual requirements, and employment legislationEnsuring employees are paid correctly and on timeEnsuring accurate and timely liaison with managers, staff, HR, and third parties is effective and based on accurate legislative and contractual knowledge.To be successful in this role, you will require:At least 4 years' experience in end-to-end payroll processingDetailed knowledge of and previous experience in accounting, payroll procedures, and relevant legislationPrevious experience with iChris or Chris21 payroll is desirableHigh accuracy and attention to detailExperience with the MS suite of products (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, particularly Excel, intermediate level)Previous experience with both timesheet pays and non-timesheet auto paysThe Horizon Energy Group takes pride in its commitment to the health and safety of all its stakeholders.
