About the role The Payroll/HRIS Administrator position here at Health New Zealand Southern is a varied and busy role supporting the payroll function for a team of more than 6,300 employees throughout the Southern region. Our team is an experienced, friendly and hard-working bunch who support each other to provide the best possible service for the organisation.
In this role you will be providing support, advice and above all an efficient and accurate payroll service across our diverse organisation.
Key Responsibilities: Ensuring that all employees receive accurate and timely Payroll/HRIS servicesAssisting with reporting related activitiesProviding advice to both employees and managementKeeping informed and up to date with relevant legislationThis is a Monday to Friday role, during standard office hours with flexibility on start and finish times to allow you a balance with commitments outside of your working life.

About you We are on the lookout for a team player who will bring their extensive knowledge and experience within payroll to actively contribute to the smooth running of the service.
Our ideal candidate will have the following: Commercial payroll experience and a broad understanding of the end-to-end payroll processHigh levels of computer literacy particularly within Excel and other Microsoft applicationsStrong attention to detailFlexibility in your approach and the ability to work well in an agile environmentExcellent communication skills and the ability to relate to stakeholders at all levels of the organisationCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settingsSalary range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the PSA South Island Clerical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the National Health Administration Workers Pay Scale, Band 6 between $77,452 and $81,024 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
