About the Role: As a Payroll Project Support, you will work alongside a talented project team to help achieve strategic goals, including the remediation of payroll compliance issues for current and terminated employees. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the development of detailed project plans and supporting the project's strategic objectives.Analyzing payroll data to identify issues and supporting the development of solutions to ensure compliance.Supporting the payroll systems work stream with configuration and testing of compliant systems.Assisting with validating outputs and testing pay models for compliance with the Holidays Act 2003.Identifying and documenting process changes to ensure ongoing compliance.Providing technical support and advice to the remediation team.Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain effective relationships with project teams, payroll vendors, and HR colleagues.Assist with analyzing data, contracts, and payroll information to support decision-making and identify potential process improvements.Collaborate with team members to ensure effective delivery and transition to business-as-usual operations.Contribute to risk minimization efforts and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.About You: You will bring an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll systems and New Zealand employment law, particularly the Holidays Act. The ideal candidate will have:
Essential Skills and Experience: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.Experience processing complex payrolls for 1,000+ employees, including knowledge of MECAs and IEAs.Sound understanding of New Zealand employment legislation, particularly the Holidays Act 2003.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.A commitment to customer service and teamwork.Experience in Holidays Act remediation projects.Experience working in the health sector or with complex payroll systems (e.g., Leader, PSe, Datacom).Experience with payroll system implementations and testing.Payroll system script-writing experience.This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact on the payroll function, working with an innovative team and contributing to a crucial compliance project.
