As a Paving Engineer, this role will enable the Paving crew into best practices by ensuring the team is equipped to perform to a high standard and to address technical and logistical challenges in the daily operations of the business.
Reporting to the Department manager, you will be a strong communicator with a great level of attention to detail. Capitalising on opportunities whilst ensuring success in your planning process.
Responsibilities
Provide management, coordination, and supervision of assigned asphalt paving works, undertaken by our own staff or subcontractors.
Ensure appropriate resources are allocated to the job in the most efficient way.
Show initiative and work with the team to develop and implement engineered solutions in the delivery of the contracted works.
Develop and implement control measures to minimise risk to health and safety for workers and members of the public.
Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the resource consents and closed-out to specified requirements.
Ensure that the environmental risks are identified and controlled through documented processes and apply positive process change and SOP's.

We're Looking For Someone With:
Minimum Class 1 Full NZ drivers licence, Class 2 is advantageous.
Experience from a similar role or relevant Tertiary Qualification (BE or NZCE).
Knowledge of surfacing works would be advantageous.
Experience delivering projects on time and within budget is key.
The ability to develop, motivate and lead ground staff.
Experience in allocating resources, material and plant.
