Contract: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday

About the Role: This position has become available due to our commitment to continuous improvement in patient safety and quality care outcomes. As the Patient Safety and Quality Lead, you'll play a critical role in leading and developing initiatives that enhance patient safety, quality of care, and compliance with healthcare standards. You will work alongside clinical teams, management, and other stakeholders to implement strategies and processes that promote a culture of safety, robust clinical governance framework, quality improvement, and operational excellence.
This role is ideal for a leader who is passionate about health quality improvement, with the vision to drive change and foster a patient-centered environment that aligns with Te Whatu Ora's commitment to health equity and whanau-centered care.
About the Team/Service/ Location: You'll be part of a dedicated team at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital, committed to providing high-quality healthcare in a collaborative environment. About you: The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in healthcare, quality and safety, along with experience in managing initiatives focused on continuous improvement. You are collaborative, proactive, and dedicated to making a meaningful difference in patient care.Demonstrated experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, or a related field.Proven ability to lead quality improvement projects and initiatives in a healthcare setting.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand: Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
