The purpose of this role based within the community is to be integral to building sustainable, long-term partnerships with a range of Pacific Peoples and community groups and to support the regional public health service in Te Manawa Taki to deliver initiatives that eliminate health inequities, enable Pacific communities to thrive and realise Pae Ora. Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience * Competence in at least one Pacific language * Knowledge and understanding of Pacific cultural protocols, values, history and stories and/or a willingness to develop this * Ability to coach and guide others in approaching Pacific people in a health literate, client-centred way that takes into account the practicalities of people's lives * Lived experience or significant experience working alongside under served communities (eg: Tangata Whaikaha, aiga with experience in the Justice System, rural communities, transitional housing, LGBTQIA+) * Established relationship with Pacific leaders in the area you will be working * Basic technology skills and a willingness to learn new systems * Written communication skills (eg: email writing, note taking) * Providing advice and support * A commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and anti-racism practice * A creative flair and ability to think outside the box Ka kawea e koe | You will bring: * A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
