We are looking for a part-time Support Worker in the West Auckland area for our Whanau Support and Supported Living Services.
What does a Support Worker do? We are currently seeking people who can be a mentor/companion to those living with disabilities.
This role is to support them to continue to live independently, by assisting with budgeting, meal preparation, daily living activities, taking them to fun community activities, and more.
Making sure the person is at the center of everything you do, and that they live a rich and fulfilling life.
This role may also involve looking after younger children, supporting them to reach their goals and aspirations, while also giving the whanau some respite.
Rostered hours are from Monday to Sunday anywhere between 8 am - 8 pm.
Approx.
16 hours per fortnight to start with the opportunity to increase over time.

A full driver's license and owning your own vehicle is essential.While experience in supporting people would be an advantage, it is not a necessity for those with the right attitude.
We are seeking somebody who has the initiative to push people towards their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box.
You need to be respectful of others' thinking and their way of living life that may be different from your own.Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
