Part-Time Maintenance Officer

MiLife New Plymouth offers independent retirement living in Bell Block across two sites.
We are seeking expressions of interest for a part-time Maintenance Officer, this is a key role in our Village, ensuring our residents continue to live their best lives in a well presented and safe environment.
The residents are always at the heart of what we do so it is important you are customer focused, engaging, approachable, trustworthy and well presented.
Some of the things you will be doing: Coordination and responsibility for day-to-day village repairs and maintenance Play a key role in the refurbishment of our villas as required Oversee long term maintenance projects in conjunction with the Village Manager Work with contractors onsite to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and to a high level.
Run an effective lawn maintenance programme at one site, which will include mowing, edges and feeding of lawns.
Cleaning and maintaining village maintenance equipment and vehicles.
Assist other team members with tasks as and when required.
Have an understanding of health and safety in the workplace and always be aware of potential hazards that may arise and bring them to the Village Manager's attention.
About You: We are a small team and we are looking for a resident focused, adaptable and flexible person that is a team player.
You need to be a skilled communicator, good problem solver and able to have multiple projects on the go at once, it is important you are also well presented.
Previous experience in the building industry is essential.
Due to the nature of the work you need to be physically fit.
Days are reasonably flexible, offering 18 hours per week.
